TypeLab is an informal, multi-day, typographic hackathon coordinated by Petr van Blokland to complement to the main Typographics conference and workshops. Like the original TypeLab events in the 1990s, it is a place for people to meet and talk about type and design with an informal structure that allows more spontaneity and interaction than typical mainstage conference events.

This year’s TypeLab will be a split across multiple days and platforms, with a combination of in-person events in New York and online events around the globe.

June 13 & 20: TypeLab will be hosted online, with presentations from speakers around the globe. There will also be a location in New York City to serve as an in-person viewing headquarters.

June 15: In addition to online events around the globe, in-person TypeLab presentations will also be hosted in New York City at The Cooper Union, 41 Cooper Square.

Take note that in the online schedule, the start time of the first events of the day may appear as late night hours depending on your time zones and conversely the last events of a day may appear as early morning times for the same reason.
