AI Content Collective: a monthly meet-up for AI-curious writers

AI is here, and it’s changing the landscape for writers. The question is, how do we respond?

I believe exploring generative AI tools is a necessary part of any writer’s journey today. It’s only through hands-on experience that we can fully understand how this technology works, how it might support us, how we can apply it responsibly – and whether we use it at all.

So, from 12.30pm – 1.30pm on the first Wednesday of each month, this group will explore a particular AI-related topic. The aim is to share our experiences, support each other and forge a way forward, together.

Through these explorations, we’ll also question what it means to be human. We’ll gather as a like-minded community. We’ll probably talk about our love of the craft. Hell, we may decide to shun AI altogether.

Whatever we discover, I believe we’ll come out as better writers. Wordsmiths who can stand our ground when it matters most – and advocate for our skills with confidence.

How it works

It’ll go something like this:

1. A quick intro from me – some AI news highlights + overview of theme.

2. Short one-to-one breakout – an AI ice breaker (and a chance to meet others).

3. Come together to feedback.

4. Breakout into small groups for a deeper exploration of this month’s theme, including knowledge share, best practice, lessons learned etc.

5. Come back together to share key takeouts from each group.

As there’s a mix of skills, I’ve decided to set a small challenge/exploration/theme before each call, so everyone can have a play beforehand and join in the discussions. That way we can all learn from each other.
