Did you know that you could play a significant role in starting, building, and supporting the recovery of businesses this year, and beyond too?

With the need to be ‘local’ gone, freelancers have increasingly been in the shop window since the pandemic began and all indications point to this continuing. This means the door has well and truly opened for all freelancers as well as the businesses who need their skills.

Freelancers undoubtedly need a strong online presence and trusted support more than ever.

The future of work is here, and it’s the theme of this year’s Freelance Heroes Day.

In honour of our 5th birthday, this year’s Freelance Heroes Day is a three-day event! As well as the annual Twitter chat on Sunday 16th May, we’ve got a fantastic two-day lineup of workshops, talks, panel discussions, and networking sessions for freelancers and small business owners across the UK.

This Freelance Heroes Day, join us to get the tools and contacts you need to face the demands that lie ahead and take your business where you want it to go.

Having honed our virtual event skills at Freelance Heroes Day last 2020, and with the generous support of Coconut, we’re taking this year’s event to the next level, with practical workshops on marketing, pitching, collaborating, growing your business, and much more.

With plenty of breaks and break-out networking sessions, we’ve designed it to flex around freelancing life.

Join us live for the sessions you can and catch up on the recordings of the ones you can’t.

And, to top it all off, the Freelance Heroes’ Day 5th Birthday After-Party!

Having started as a Facebook group in 2016, Freelance Heroes is now a UK-wide 11,500-strong community. Last year, we launched the Freelance Heroes Portal (freelance-heroes.com) to provide UK freelancers with a gateway to an even greater presence and support.

The ticket price for Freelance Heroes Day is just £44 for the whole two-day conference or FREE when you sign up to ’12 months for the price of 10’ Freelance Heroes Portal Membership.

As the travel and hospitality industry shut down in 2020, a lot of my freelance marketing and copywriting client work went with it. After more than a couple of very long, thoughtful walks, I knew this was the time to start doing my very best marketing – to stand out, stay positive and support others. I decided to put all my experience into creating marketing and mindset courses for ambitious freelancers and small businesses which would also put me at the forefront for clients. But as the client work started to pick up again, I was already getting really good feedback and sales for the courses, not to mention loving doing them.

My priority now is to lift other freelancers and business owners with online courses that give them the confidence to market themselves and grow businesses they truly love. Find free marketing courses and resources at Thoughtfully.co.uk.And I’m hopefully soon to be Editor-in-Chief of FreelancerMagazine.co.uk. Make sure you connect with me on LinkedIn or Twitter if we’re not already in touch. And excuse the fact that for some inexplicable reason I’ve started using more emojis than my mum. 👋😎

Most 6-year-olds in September 1988 were still playing with their own snot. Not me. I’d just put together a ten-game unbeaten Scrabble run against my dad, and began trouncing him regularly. Over 30 years later, I’m still messing with words, but for brands, not points.

As a freelance copywriter, I work with everyone from solopreneurs (I’m so, so sorry for using that word) and cool startups to massive companies, helping them speak to their clients and customers with clarity, authenticity, and a dash of humour. My main focus now is on writing ultra-engaging stories that help you get your personality across and sell without feeling salesy. I can’t wait to show you how.
